Calming Breath

Today I start indexing the meditations from a freely available guided meditation CD, produced by Lauren Mayhew, health education and wellness coordinator for University Health Services at Umass Boston.

This is an excellent CD. The meditations range from guided gentle Yoga stretches to a Body Scan meditation.

The audio quality is very good, and Lauren's voice is pleasant and friendly. I, for one, was very happy to find such a CD freely available on the Internet.

The first guided meditation on the CD is called "Calming Breath". It's a short meditation in which you'll be doing the yogic three-part breath.

It's very useful as an intro to other meditation(s), because this type of breathing calms you down quickly.
