This guided meditation is produced by the UCSD Center for Mindfulness. Their aim is to integrate Mindfulness into the lives of individuals throughout the healthcare and educational system.
Or in their own words:
"The UCSD Center for Mindfulness is a multi-faceted program of clinical care, professional training, education, research and outreach intended to further the practice and integration of mindfulness into the lives of individuals throughout the healthcare and educational system, including patients, healthcare providers, students, teachers and businesspeople. They also organize retreats, where you can be trained in Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, but they are rather pricy.
The foundation and core of the Center for Mindfulness is Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as it was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D and the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School."
We stick to their free guided meditations. :-) We're very thankful to them for making these meditations freely available!
The first meditation of the UCSD Center for Mindfulness on Meditation Collector, is a Body Scan. It comes in three versions. A 45 minute stereo file, a 45 minute mono file, and a 20 minute stereo file.
The 45 minute version is very detailed, very suitable to beginners. For some of you, it may however be a little too detailed. For those, the 20 minute version might be better.
